Put either Mixed Tree Nuts or Shelled Peanuts (Out of the Shell) into this feeder in order to attract woodpeckers, nuthatches, and chickadees.  We recommend Mixed Tree Nuts since they are bigger and make the birds work harder to remove.  This means you get more view time since the birds can't grab a peanut and fly away, plus you go through the seed slower.  We recommend the Quick Clean Mesh Peanut Feeder over this feeder as it is easier to clean.  Or if you need the squirrel proof version, check out the Squirrel Buster Peanut Feeder.
