One of our favorite overall feeders. It is the most cardinal friendly squirrel proof feeder that we have. Cardinals are naturally ground feeding birds, so they prefer feeders with large trays. That makes it difficult to keep squirrels off, but you can keep them away by using the Flaming Hot Feast Cylinder with this feeder. Squirrels and other critters have taste buds that are sensitive to spice, but birds can't even taste it. If squirrels are not an issue, try one of our other Seed Cylinders (we recommend the Bugs, Nuts, & Fruit Cylinder). Also, this is the only Cylinder Feeder that can hold the larger size of Seed Cylinders. That means you save money in the long run because they are a better price per pound, plus you only have to change the cylinder half as often (a huge plus in the winter months!) 3 Year Warranty. Another advantage of cylinder feeders in general is that it takes longer for birds to go through them since they have to work to remove the seeds as opposed to just grabbing a seed and flying away. This means you get to view the bird for longer and don't have to replace the seed as often. Be patient, it is not unusual for it to take 2-3 weeks for birds to get used to a new feeder.
