This feeder is our least favorite way to offer suet while being starling proof.  That's because it will also prevent Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, and any other birds of similar size from being able to access the suet.  However, Downy Woodpeckers, Chickadees, and both the White and Red-Breasted Nuthatches will be able to use this feeder.  Recommended only as a last resort starlings and Grackles.  We highly suggest switching to Pure Suet or trying the Recycled Upside-Down Suet Feeder first.
